Dance Academy USA Alumni
Claire (class of 2015) has spent the last 4 years at NYU majoring in dance and will be graduating this May. She has studied immensely fro it, traveled for it, and hopes to make a living out of it.
“I only love it more and more everyday…. I see myself as valuable as a thinking dancer - skills that I gained from the professional experience I gained from the exposure DAU gave us, as well as the space it allows for intense academia at our competitive high schools. I don’t think I would be the dancer or person I am today without the resources, support, and love DAU gave me."
Emily (class of 2018) has been dancing at DAU for 16 years and has been a dedicated dancer on DAU’s competition team for 13 years. Thanks to DAU, she has had so many amazing opportunities such as assisting for choreographers and conventions. She will be attending the Studio School in Los Angeles and continue to pursue her passion and career in dance.
"DAU has taught me that hard work and dedication pays off. Through DAU, not only have I found a passion for dance, but a second family, a second home, and memories that will last a lifetime."
Delaney (class of 2018) will be attending Fordham University at Lincoln Center in the fall and working towards a BFA in dance with the Fordham/Alvin Ailey BFA program as well as double majoring in Political Science.
“DAU will always hold a special place in my heart as it became a second home for me for 12 years. I had teachers who became mentors that taught me about dance, but more importantly about life, and I made friends that became like sisters. I know the bonds I formed at DAU will last a lifetime.”
Amanda (class of 2018) will be headed to Sarah Lawrence College after 12 years of training at DAU. She will be studying Musical Theater and History at Sarah Lawrence in the fall.
“I am so thankful for the training DAU has given me, but even more grateful for the DAU community- especially my life long best friend Cassidy.”
Amy (class of 2018) has been a part of the DAU community for 8 years and will be studying at the University of Michigan.
"I have learned so much about teamwork, compassion, and dedication. I'm so grateful for the experiences I gained as a member of the Production Company and the Student Intern team. This coming fall, I will be attending the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology with a minor in Computer Science, and I look forward to furthering the skills I learned at DAU."
Chloe (class of 2018) will be continuing her future studying Physics and Astronomy at Lewis and Clark College.
"DAU is a community that helped me to become a better dancer and person. Here, I have met many people who encourage me to push myself, to try new things, and to have fun while doing so."
