Taking a week off from school and dance lessons every spring is your chance to revitalize and come back feeling refreshed. It’s also a good chance to be productive without long school hours and rehearsals to attend. Here’s how to make the most of your upcoming Spring Break.
Stay on a good schedule
It’s wise to continue managing your time effectively, even when you’re off the clock. During spring break, maintain a regular schedule for eating, exercising, relaxing and sleeping. Not only does this make it easier to return to your regular school and dance schedule next week, but it makes you more productive during your time off.
Get plenty of sleep
As a busy student and dedicated dancer, you may not always have time to get as much sleep as you would like. However, studies show that getting eight hours of shut-eye every night makes a profound difference in your mental and physical well-being. You’ll notice clearer thinking, improved weight control, better mood and a stronger immune system. Take advantage of your time off to get a good night’s sleep for a week so your body can get back on track.
Enjoy some “me” time
If you’re the type of person who reenergizes with alone time, be sure to fit plenty of that in during your Spring Break. Read a good book, watch a TV show, sing and dance to your favorite music, and get a manicure. This is your break, and you deserve to enjoy yourself!
Spend time with family and friends
While you should certainly pursue “me” time, Spring Break is also an opportunity to socialize. Make your family and friends a priority during your break to nurture healthy relationships. Catch the latest movies, go out to eat, and take advantage of the beautiful spring weather to go on bike rides and walks with your loved ones.
Catch up or get ahead on school work
While Spring Break is largely about recharging, you can also take advantage of the extra time to focus on school work. If you’re behind in a class, get caught up. If you want to feel extra prepared when school resumes, work ahead a little. Your efforts will keep you mentally sharp so you can jump right back into your normal routine next week.
Keep practicing your choreography
Spend at least five or 10 minutes every day during Spring Break reviewing the choreography for the dances you will perform in the June recital. It may seem like the performance is still a ways off, but it will be here before you know it! A little review over the break ensures you return to your dance lessons feeling ready to learn more.
Dance Academy USA will be closed for Spring Break from April 15-20, 2019. If you have any questions about our calendar, or you want to sign up for dance lessons in Cupertino, please contact us online or email us at email@example.com.
