Balancing School and Dance

From being on junior teams, high school dance teams and continuing in college, to being a trained competitive dancer looking for a way to stay in the dance world, to being a complete noob but somehow having that natural talent that some of us (me) envy, dancers in the community come from all different backgrounds. Some of us may be used to practicing seven days a week, while others may be struggling to understand how to cope with the idea of hell weeks, but balancing practices and studying for that huge midterm coming uFrom being on junior teams, high school dance teams and continuing in college, to being a trained competitive dancer looking for a way to stay in the dance world, to being a complete noob but somehow having that natural talent that some of us (me) envy, dancers in the community come from all different backgrounds. Some of us may be used to practicing seven days a week, while others may be struggling to understand how to cope with the idea of hell weeks, but balancing practices and studying for that huge midterm coming up is no joke. Going to school while dancing for a team is a great way to make new friends, feel a sense of community, and become a better dancer, but with it comes a lot of sleepless nights, a few mental breakdowns, and a good amount of sad Facebook posts about how hard life is… followed by some late night borderline threatening subtweets about your directors. No worries though! If you haven’t mastered it by now, here are a few ways to help you balance out these two important parts of your life.p is no joke.
