Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Beth Ann Namey is delighted to be on the faculty at Dance Academy USA as a teacher and choreographer. Ms. Beth Ann has been working in the bay area for over 10 years as a soloist dancer with Ballet San Jose. In 2013, she marked her 15th season as a professional ballerina.
Ms. Beth Ann has danced many leading roles with Ballet San Jose. Among her favorites are Lady Capulet in Romeo & Juliet, the Gypsy Woman in Don Quixote, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the Mistress in Antony Tudor’s Jardin aux Lilas. Other featured performances include the Spanish Princess in Swan Lake, and the Grand Pas de Deux in The Nutcracker; as well as various characters in Carmen, Carmina Burana, and Blue Suede Shoes. Her diverse repertoire also includes the choreography of George Balanchine, Donald McKayle, Jerome Robbins, and Twyla Tharp.
She is passionate about arts education and has volunteered her time to Ballet San Jose and BSJ School’s outreach program by participating in several events at elementary and middle schools throughout San Jose.
Ms. Beth Ann is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
