ages 2-7

Combination classes 

Creative Dance
A class for 2-4 year olds that introduces  Ballet and Tap while fostering group work, developing coordination, and inspiring creativity.

Intro to Dance
A Tap, Jazz, and Ballet combination class for 5-6 year olds.

Tap/Jazz
A Tap and Jazz combination class for 6-7 year olds.


ages 6 and up

Ballet and Lyrical/Contemporary classes

Ballet
The first standardized dance form, Ballet is the foundation of most other current dance forms. Students will develop grace, posture, body alignment, discipline, and artistry.

Floor Barre
A class to focus on developing body alignment utilizing ballet exercises performed on the floor.

Pointe
More in-depth study of the principles of classical ballet; emphasis on basic pointe technique, barre work, and performance styles. For advanced students only; teacher approval and attendance in an additional one-hour Ballet technique class required.

Lyrical
Lyrical is a movement style that expresses emotion and/or tells a story using any combination of ballet, jazz, and/or modern/contemporary technique.

Contemporary Technique
A study of multiple dance techniques (Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, etc.) in which a dancer fuses different dance genres together to create new movement. Dancers will focus primarily on Modern technique (Horton, Alexander, etc.) while also exploring improvisation, dance composition, and other movement problems. Must be leveled a 2 or higher in Jazz, Ballet, and/or Lyrical. No recital.


Tap, Musical Theater, and Voice classes

Tap
This is an audible art form in which dancers create sounds with their feet. The class will explore rhythm and timing while developing proper tap technique.

Musical Theater
This introductory-level class comprises vocal training and the development of performance skills in a Broadway style.

Vocal Training
Students will perform basic vocal warm-ups and develop speech-level singing technique using familiar songs. Students must be able to read song lyrics.


Jazz classes

Jazz
A fun, high-energy dance form that develops technique, rhythm, and style while building strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

Leaps, Turns, and Technique
A technique-only jazz class geared toward clarifying and reinforcing basic skills and then applying those skills toward challenging jumps and turn combinations. 

Dance Team Technique
This class is an intermediate/advanced jazz technique-only class with an emphasis on specialty turns, leaps, and tricks often used in a Dance Team environment. Suggested level 2 or higher in Jazz and/or Ballet as skills covered will require a strong technical foundation. No recital.

Master Class
An advanced-level class that offers professional guest teachers from across the country on a monthly basis. Registration is limited to Production Company members. 


Hip Hop classes

Breakdancing
Breakdancing is a popular urban style of dance that combines freestyle, Hip Hop, floor work, and tumbling.

Hip Hop
This energetic and popular dance style involves the whole body and is all about self-expression. Hip hop tends to be less structured than other dance forms as it is more about explosive movement than traditional technique.

Urban Jazz/Hip Hop
Various Jazz and Hip Hop styles influenced by the rhythms and techniques of Hip Hop music.


Chinese Dance, Hula, and Conditioning classes

Chinese Dance
This class involves traditional Chinese Dance Movements, basic Chinese Opera, and fundamental Chinese Kung Fu to build on the essential technique. Students also learn the history and the geography of the dances.

Hula
Welcome to the feel of the Islands with a swing of your hips and a twist of your wrist! Learn basic Hula fundamentals such as the “Kaholo,” K’ao,” and “Ami” dances that give life to the land. Dancers will also be introduced to the Hawaiian language and culture.

Strength for Dancers
This class will give dancers an edge by improving their overall physical performance.
