Adult Class Descriptions

Ballet and Tap Classes

BALLET BURN
Get the body of a ballet dancer while strengthening your core, improving your posture and balance, and learning one of the world’s most respected dance forms.  In Ballet Burn, we will perform traditional barre training that begins every ballet class in the world.  We will focus on developing and stretching the calf and leg muscles for those long, lean dancer’s legs.  We’ll also do some light weight work for a dancer’s shoulders and arms.  We will move at a fast pace to maximize our caloric burn and to keep it fun.  This is a no-impact class and is perfect for people with knee or back problems.  

TAP
Let’s get tappin’!  This quick-paced class teaches tap technique fundamentals, vocabulary, traditional steps and sequences, musicality and complex rhythms.  We explore steps from all eras and styles to provide a well-rounded experience in this all-American dance form.  


Jazz and Hip Hop Classes

JAZZ 
Jazz dance is extremely high-energy. This class incorporates body awareness, flexibility, and style, all while toning and stretching all of your muscles. This will help to increase your stamina and also help with your body posture awareness. The music and movement will keep you smiling and you'll be HOOKED! Int/Adv-level classes will offer a more challenging environment for dancers that have one plus years of training.

LATIN JAZZ
Get ready to have lots of fun with this mix of basic jazz technique mixed with a Latin twist of samba, cha cha, and salsa!  Be prepared to move and shake with upbeat music that will be sure to get you working up a sweat!
 
HIP HOP
This self-expressive form of dance is less structured than other dance forms. Your true creativity will come out! A mix of technique, choreography, and explosive moves will keep you coming back!  Wanna wow your friends on the dance floor? This class will certainly help you out. This high-energy class will keep you moving all day long!


Strengthen & Tone Classes

YOGALATES FOR DANCERS
The benefits of Yoga and Pilates are legendary.  Get the best of both of these disciplines as we combine Yoga poses with Pilates exercises and choreograph it all to a fun and eclectic mix of music.  This full-body workout will work on flexibility, balance and control while also toning muscles and building bone density.  At the end of each class, you will leave feeling both relaxed and energized—the perfect pick-me-up for the week!

ZUMBA
